A proper closing protects your pool, plumbing and equipment from freezing temperatures and helps prevent costly damage over the winter.

Preferred weeks are requested dates and are not guaranteed until confirmed by Earthworks.

STEP 1. SELECT YOUR CLOSING PACKAGE

Includes lowering the pool water, removing deck equipment, winterizing the plumbing, pump, filter and heater, installing winter plugs, and installing your existing winter cover.

Pool cleaning, vacuuming and water balancing are not included. Pools over 60,000 litres, pools with additional features, and certain cover types may require an additional charge. Any surcharge will be confirmed before service.

Prices are subject to HST. Replacement plugs, gizzmos and other required winterizing parts will be charged separately.

SERVICE PREPARATION

Before the appointment:

✓ Clean and vacuum the pool and remove excessive debris
✓ Balance the pool water
✓ Leave the pool at its normal operating water level
✓ Ensure the pool and equipment area are accessible
✓ Leave out the winter cover, plugs, gizzmos and closing accessories
✓ Ensure electricity and an outdoor water supply are available

Payment is required before the confirmed service date.

After submitting your booking:

  1. We'll review your request and confirm your service.
  2. You'll receive an email with payment instructions.
  3. Any additional services or chemicals will be added to your invoice.

Full payment is required before your pool is closed.

Pool Closing FAQs

When should I book my pool closing?Most pools in Southern Ontario are closed between September and October. Book early if you need a particular week, as the fall schedule fills quickly.
What is included in a standard pool closing?The service includes lowering the water level, winterizing the plumbing and pool equipment, installing winter plugs, and installing your existing winter cover.
Should I clean the pool before the closing appointment?Yes. Pool cleaning and vacuuming are not included, so the pool should be cleaned before our crew arrives. The water should also be properly balanced before closing.
Should I lower the water level before the crew arrives?No. Please leave the water at its normal operating level. Our crew will lower it as required during the closing.
What should I leave out for the crew?Please leave out the winter cover, plugs, gizzmos and any other closing accessories. The pool and equipment area must be accessible, with electricity and an outdoor water supply available.
Do I need to be home during the pool closing?No, provided we have access to the pool and equipment area. Include any gate codes or special access instructions when booking.
Can you close pools with spas, waterfalls or swim jets?Yes. These features require additional winterization and must be selected as add-ons when booking.
