Our professional pool-opening service reconnects and starts the essential components of your pool after winter.

✓ Remove and fold the winter cover
✓ Remove winter plugs and reinstall return fittings
✓ Rinse and reinstall the skimmer basket
✓ Reconnect and start the pump, filter and heater
✓ Start the salt system or chemical feeder
✓ Prime the pump and begin water circulation
✓ Inspect the system for visible leaks or operating issues

An opening chemical kit can be added when booking.

Preferred weeks are requested dates and are not guaranteed until confirmed by Earthworks.

STEP 1. SELECT YOUR OPENING PACKAGE

Includes winter-cover removal and folding, removal of winter plugs, reinstallation of return fittings and skimmer basket, equipment reconnection, system startup and a visual check for leaks or operating issues.

Does not include pool cleaning, vacuuming, water testing or water balancing.

Pools over 60,000 litres, large water features, clip-in covers, and tarp-and-water-bag covers may require an additional charge. Any surcharge will be confirmed before service.

✓ Electricity and an outdoor water supply must be available

Pool Opening FAQs

What is included in a pool opening?Your opening includes removing and folding the winter cover, removing winter plugs, reinstalling return fittings and the skimmer basket, reconnecting and starting the pool equipment, and visually checking the system for leaks or operating issues.
Are pool cleaning and water balancing included?No. Pool cleaning, vacuuming, water testing and water balancing are not included. You can add our Spring Start-Up Chemical Treatment when booking, which includes pool shock, algaecide and stain-and-scale treatment.
When should I have my pool opened?Most pools in Southern Ontario are opened between late April and mid-May. Opening before the weather becomes consistently warm can help prevent algae growth and make spring cleanup easier.
How should I prepare for my pool opening?Fill the pool to its normal operating level and ensure the crew can access the pool, equipment area, electricity and an outdoor water supply. Please leave out the return fittings, skimmer basket, filters and any other required pool accessories.
Do I need to be home during the opening?No, provided we have access to everything required to complete the service. Please include any gate codes or special access instructions with your booking.
Can I request a specific opening date?You can request your preferred service week when booking. We will do our best to accommodate it, but a specific day is not guaranteed until your appointment is confirmed.
